'참 좋은 시절'은 가난한 소년이었던 한 남자가 검사로 성공한 뒤 14년 만에 떠나왔던 고향에 돌아오게 되는 이야기가 펼쳐진다. 가족의 가치와 사랑의 위대함, 내 이웃의 소중함과 사람의 따뜻함을 다룰 예정이다.
극 중 이엘리야는 26차원에 욱하는 성격을 지닌 시골의 작은 분교의 선생님으로 넉넉한 집안에 세상에 안 되는 일 없이 남부럽지 않게 살아왔지만 연애에는 소질이 없는 인물인 김마리 역을 맡았다.
특히 배우 이서진의 동생으로 출연이 확정된 2PM의 옥택연와 티격태격 쉽지 않은 로맨스도 선보이게 된다.
그뿐만 아니라 이엘리야는 극 중 시골 산청 분교 선생님이자 샤이니 팬클럽 경남 지부 회장으로, 모든 수업시간에 샤이니를 모든 예로 들어 설명하기도 한다.
